Lina Naga, MD, FAAD, of SkinDC just outside of Washington DC, is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in cosmetic dermatology, general dermatology, and surgical dermatology.
Dr. Naga has been named a Top Doctor in the DC area by Washingtonian magazine. Dr. Naga believes strongly in “preventative” dermatology. Whether she is targeting skin aging, skin cancer prevention, or the early treatment of the first signs of acne or rosacea, her approach emphasizes staying ahead of unwanted skin conditions whenever possible. This involves both early detection that is aided by the variety of technologies available at SkinDC, and early interventions in the form of topical treatments and/or in-office treatments to address each individual’s unique skin concerns.
Treating skin conditions early in their development will often require less aggressive treatments to achieve the desired results. In regards to skin aging, she strongly prioritizes natural-looking results and believes that small subtle treatments started early in life and maintained over time achieve a better and more natural-looking outcome.
Dr. Naga’s unique background in art and painting inspires her practice of dermatology. A series of her abstract acrylic paintings adorn the walls of the SkinDC office. Her artistic approach, eye for symmetry, and sharp visual perception set her apart from others in her field. By combining art and the science of medical dermatology, her treatment approach provides her patients with a unique and elegant care experience.
After obtaining her bachelor’s degree from the George Washington University, she graduated with distinction from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She then went on to complete her dermatology training at the University of Maryland, where she was strongly commended for her warm bedside manner and academic excellence in dermatology and dermatologic surgery.
Throughout her medical training, she maintained distinction at the top of her class and was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. After her residency, she completed a fellowship in cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery where she further developed her skills and expertise in aesthetic dermatology. She has authored numerous journal publications and book chapters on a variety of topics in both medical and cosmetic dermatology and has presented at several dermatology conferences.
Her individualized and preventative approach, excellent technique and visual acumen, combined with the innovative and state of the art imaging and laser and energy based devices at her practice provide her patients with a well-rounded and exceptional quality care experience.
