Jessica Kalen, MD, FAAD

Jessica Kalen, MD specializes in general, pediatric, and surgical dermatology. Originally from Potomac, Maryland, Dr. Kalen grew up in Boca Raton, Florida and earned her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Florida. She continued her studies at the University of Florida College of Medicine where she received the Excellence in Dermatology Award. 

 

Following medical school, she achieved “Triple Gator” status by completing an internship in internal medicine at the University of Florida and then went on to complete a dermatology residency at George Washington University, serving as chief resident. During her dermatology residency, Dr. Kalen also received comprehensive training at Children’s National Medical Center and the Washington DC Veteran Affairs Hospital. She has presented on both local and national levels as well as served as a medical writer and correspondent for Next Steps in Derm and The Dermatologist. 

 

Dr. Jessica Kalen believes that dermatologic care should serve as a means for creating a positive self-image and promoting self-confidence. She advocates for equitable care for patients of all ages, skin tones, and backgrounds and works to develop holistic treatment plans based on the individual needs of her patients.
